Acivities in Auxilium for 'Door Step School'

This is related to 2003 but news is news i guess.

Excerpts

Joining Hands

Door Step School participated in the Helping Hands Mela at HSBC on 21-24 October 2003 and in ONGOing, the mela for NGOs organised by Concern India Foundation on 25-27 October. The sales at these pre- Diwali melas are quite encouraging.

On January 18, 2003, 35 children visited the Auxilium Convent at Wadala for a program called Anmol Milan. Here they had the opportunity to interact with children from other NGOs. The activities were recreational and ample opportunity was given to them to win prizes. The children thoroughly enjoyed the outing.

Thirteen children participated in the workshops for children from different organisations planned at the Jawahar Bal Bhavan between 22-24 January. They got to take part in clay work, craft, drawing, singing, and dramatics.

The organisation, Magic Bus, which seeks to give a variety of exposure and experiences to children from the less advantaged strata of society, invited children from Door Step School for various events through out the year, viz. adventure outings, sports and games, educational visits( like the one to Mastek on April 26, where children got to know something about computers) and a Christmas party at the Taj President. Two hundred children from Door Step School benefited from the adventure program this year. A group of 25 children have been trained in rugby and another 15 in football under their sports coaching program.
